WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, in response to increasing global hostility toward Christians, U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna introduced the “Civilians Resisting Unlawful Strikes Against Divine Establishments Act.” The legislation would, if enacted, embolden the President’s ability to restrict U.S. munitions use with countries that may be using the provisions against Christian civilian targets.
“The global persecution of Christians is rising rapidly. My legislation will make sure that the President is actively involved in ensuring that our munitions are not being used by U.S. security partners to target Christian civilians, churches, or monuments,” Congresswoman Luna said. “American tax dollars should not be used to undermine our founding principles.”
According to Open Doors, a charitable organization that gives relief to Christians in hostile countries, more than one in seven Christians worldwide experience, or are in danger of, persecution. Several of the countries responsible receive significant U.S. security assistance.
