BREAKING: Today, Reps. Nutmeg and Anna Paulina Luna introduced a House Resolution to designate December 24, 2023, as “Christmas Cookie Day” in order to encourage American children to leave cookies for Santa Claus.
Rep. Nutmeg is the North Pole’s first Congressional Representative. So far, she’s enjoyed showing American children around the gingerbread Capitol, her official office, and some of D.C.’s historical monuments.
In regards to her piece of legislation, Rep. Nutmeg stated:
“I am proud to introduce my first piece of legislation to recognize December 24, 2023, as Christmas Cookie Day. On this day, I encourage all children to leave cookies behind for Santa. I strongly believe maintaining a joyful holiday spirit is more important than ever before!”
Rep. Luna stated:
“As we approach the holiday season, I wanted to give children in my district and around the country the opportunity to participate in Elf on the Shelf and follow along with what’s happening on Capitol Hill. I am very excited to partner with Rep. Nutmeg on this important resolution to make December 24, 2023, Christmas Cookie Day. I think this is something everyone can get behind!
