U.S. African Development Foundation Referred for Investigation for Fraud & Corruption
Today, the Department of Justice confirmed receipt of my letter calling on Attorney General Todd Blanche to investigate serious allegations of fraud, corruption, and whistleblower retaliation within the U.S. African Development Foundation.
The allegations involve former USADF President Travis Adkins and finance official Mathieu Zahui, who are accused of steering contracts to associates, misusing taxpayer funds, and concealing misconduct from the agency’s board. Whistleblower Jasmine Battle reported these activities and was allegedly retaliated against after coming forward.
The DOJ must fully investigate all potentially involved parties, review whether additional charges are warranted, and ensure strong protections for whistleblowers exposing corruption within our federal government.
