Service Academy Nominations

Service Academy Nomination Important Information

Rep. Luna attends Service Academy Nomination Night.

The deadline for all applications to be submitted (for the Freshman Class, 2027-2028) is Friday, October 23, 2026.

Once applications are received, they will be reviewed for possible interviews. Applicants will be emailed to set up an interview, which will be conducted in November. Candidates will be informed of their nominations before Christmas in December.

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies. Students interested in learning more about those four military institutions are encouraged to check out the websites below:
The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, https://www.uscga.edu does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. Representative Luna may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district.
